Memorial Day 2014

Memorial Day is always a fun holiday for our family.  We started the day off at the Midvale cemetery to visit Grandma LaRue's grave, then headed to G&G Barfuss's house for the annual pancake breakfast and four square tournament.  My parents were out of town for the first time ever, so Allison, Laura, Jason, and I manned the pancake station.  I think we can call it a success even though we could have fed the entire neighborhood and all their friends and family with the number of pancakes we had leftover.  Whoops!

Mya still talks about when Aunt Heidi took her and Aiden for a ride on Grandpa's walker.  Apparently they said "Bumpity bump" every time they went over a bump and the kids thought it was SO funny.

The competition was a little sparse for four square this year but as you can see the boys still pulled out all their trick moves.  We missed all the family that couldn't make it!

In the afternoon we went to visit Benjamin's and Grandpa Dee's graves.  The flowers on the left above and the ones below were from my garden.  I was pretty excited to be able to make two little bouquets to take to them!

After meeting up at the cemetery we headed to the Ridgewood pool for some swimming and hanging out.  As always, it was a blast to be with these people!
