Catching Up - June

June was such a fun month for us!
Mya got her first french braids,

and rode a horse for the first time.  Which was much more successful than the pony, by the way.  She loved it!

But our favorite part of June and July was our cruise to the Carribbean!

Mya setting up shop in my suitcase while I tried to get everything ready.

We somehow managed to convince Grandma and Grandpa Glenn to watch Mya for a week while we went on a cruise with my family to celebrate my parents 30th anniversary.  She had a blast with them and we loved being able to turn one trip into two.

Playing at the beach before we flew to Florida.

At the hotel before we headed to the harbor.

We loved being able to spend time with these two before they ditched us and headed to Chicago for med school.  They've only been gone two months, but we already miss them a ton!

Getting ready to board!

The whole gang.

Our ship was so awesome!  It had rock climbing, mini-golf, two flo riders (one for surfing and one for boogie boarding), a ton of restaurants, a boardwalk complete with ice cream shop, candy shop, and carousel, a full blown park, and a ton of other fun stuff.  There was so much to do all the time!

Our first stop of the cruise was to Nassau, Bahamas.  We only had a half day there and spent the whole time at the Atlantis water park.  The resort was so beautiful and the water slides were crazy.  My favorite was one where you float through the aquarium and can see the sharks and fish swimming all around and above you.  It was so cool!  Atlantis was definitely one of the highlights of the trip for me.

Just outside of Atlantis.

Next up we headed to St. Thomas where we spent most of the day snorkeling.

The water was gorgeous!  It was an unbelievably blue color and you could see all the way to the bottom, even when the water was 30+ feet deep.  Unfortunately it was also super salty, which wasn't a good combo for me when combined with the pregnancy sickness, so I spent most of the snorkeling time watching from the boat.

The birds where we were snorkeling were crazy!  We threw pieces of cantaloupe rind into the air and they would snatch them right out of the sky.  It was a pretty entertaining show.

That night when we got back on the ship and everybody started complaining about their sunburns, I was feeling pretty happy that I had been confined to the boat after an hour or so of snorkeling.

Our last stop was the city of St Marten,

where we took a bus tour of the city and did a little bit of shopping.

The rain, mountains, and third-world feel reminded me a lot of Ecuador and the time I spent there.  It's crazy how much I still miss that place.

When we got back to Florida, we went on an awesome air boat tour of the Everglades.

Where we saw a couple alligators and a few swamp people.

Kissing the baby alligator.

Can't say thanks enough to these awesome people for a great trip!  We were so spoiled and loved spending time with everybody!

Also a huge thanks to Greg and Shawn for watching the little one so we could play!

Mya was hilarious on the way home.  She refused to let us carry her or her backpack at the airport.

She looked so cute in her little PJs acting like she was all grown up.  We sure missed her while we were gone!
