Labor Day Weekend

We had such an awesome Labor Day weekend this year.  My parents and their friends, the Wellmans, invited us to a cabin that was smack dab in the middle of no where.  We loved just hanging out, playing games, fishing, and riding four wheelers.

The place we stayed was absolutely gorgeous.  Acres and acres of land with no one else around.  It made me feel like an early settler who lives miles away from other people.

There was a big river running right by the cabin where the fisherpeople (the boys, Sarah, and Amanda) attempted a little fly fishing.

I'm pretty sure Ben and Amanda were the only ones who caught fish in the river, but at least everybody looked cute in their little waders!

As far as the fishing went, we had much better luck in the fpond that was stocked with fish who would start chumming any time we threw in a handful of fish food.

Using the very technical method of Power Bait and a handful of fish food we caught some pretty awesome fish!

Mya and I even caught one on our first and only cast!  With a little bit of help to reel it in and unhook it...

This trip marked a big occasion for our family:  first time on a four wheeler for all three of us!

We loved it and are hoping to go again soon!

The boys getting ready to go on a more difficult ride.  No children or pregnant women allowed.  Luckily everyone came back in one piece with no major injuries.

We did have one minor incident with this very innocent looking child.  Dunc thought she was upstairs with me, I thought she was downstairs with him, and next thing we knew she had put on her own shoes and wandered out the back door by herself!  Luckily Dunc noticed her walking around outside the window and got to her just in time to help her up from falling in the mud.  It definitely got my heart racing and I'm so glad she didn't make it very far before we found her!

Big thanks to this guy and his fam (and my fam!) for letting us tag along on this trip.  We loved hanging out with all of you and will definitely mark this weekend as a favorite.
